Making A Flooring Purchase
Buying flooring from us couldn't be easier. Browse through our store, and decide on the floor
that you want. Then, either email us or phone us to discuss your purchase and place your order.
We do not have on-line ordering anymore as we like to speak to all our customers prior to them
making a commitment. This prevents costly mistakes being made that are difficult to rectify later.
We will make sure that what you are ordering is suitable for the subfloor and advise you of any
problems that we may foresee.
Receiving an Invoice
Once you have finalised your order we will email you an invoice and this indicates acceptance of your
order by us, and hence a contract will exist between us. We try to keep our prices up to date and
to offer the full range of Kahrs flooring, however in this current economic climate, suppliers can
change their prices to reflect increasing transport costs and fluctations in the exchange rate.
Shipping And Handling
It is your responsibility to check delivered goods for damage or mistakes.
No claim for damages or incorrect delivery can be made if the carriers receipt is
signed as goods received in good condition. Simply signing for goods as 'Not Inspected'
can not be accepted. Any claim you wish to make for damages or wrong delivery
must be made to The Wood Floor centre in writing within 3 days of receipt of goods,
failing which all claims shall be deemed to be waived and absolutely barred.
Flooring deliveries are standardly made to the 'kerb side'. The buyer must provide assistance
unloading the goods. It is assumed that the delivery address will be accessible by an HGV.
It is the buyers responsibility to advise The Wood Floor Centre of any restrictions and to arrange
an alternative delivery address if failing to meet the unloading criteria. The lorry must be able to park
legally and the person who placed the order will need to be at the delivery address to sign
for the goods. The delivery slot on a given day is any time between 8am and 6pm, however we will supply
the driver with mobile phone details for you. If on the agreed delivery date the driver is unable
to gain vehicular access or you (or your representative) is not present to receive the goods,
then you will be liable for all storage and redelivery costs incurred.
Installation and Warranty
You shall observe all instructions, directions and warnings issued by The Wood floor Centre or by Kahrs for the
product you are installing. Product guarantees and warranty are available from Kahrs and as such any subsequent
problems with the product will be evaluated by them.
Tax and Shipping Costs
All prices on our website are quoted as ex VAT and ex delivery. Delivery is free on any order over £1000(ex VAT)
to UK mainland. Please call us for a quote to the Channel Islands, Ireland and Highlands and Islands. Delivery
on orders under £1000 is £60. VAT will be added to your total invoice cost at the current rate of 17.5%. We will
consider delivering to any location worldwide and have shipped many floors to the USA and Canada. Please call or
email us for details.
Returning Goods
Goods may be returned for whatever reason subject to you notifying us in writing,
within 7 days of receipt of the goods. We will only accept product back for restock
if they are undamaged and in the original unopened packaging. Goods are returned at
your own expense and a 30% handling charge is taken by us. We will refund your
money within 28 days of receipt of goods. If you are returning flooring to us please
be advised that the goods can be heavy and prone to damage in transit. We would strongly
advise you to suitably protect them and take out sufficient insurance to cover their value.
Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive.
This cancellation policy does not affect your rights if we are at fault, having supplied you with
faulty or damaged goods.
